The once bothersome interruptions that would get in the way of the big game would eventually change the way professional sports aired. In some viewers’ cases, the interest in Super Bowl commercials can surpass the interest in the big game, especially if they are not a fan of either team playing. For 2023’s Super Bowl LVII, Fox set the cost of a 30-second ad at $7 million. Usually, the Super Bowl can have anywhere between 80 and 100 commercials set to air during the big game. This commercial makes a pun off Comedy Central’s popular series “Roasting” various celebrities by roasting Mr. Peanut. This is funny because Planter’s Peanuts are sold pre-roasted in stores.
Hellman’s – Who’s in the Fridge

This Hellman’s ad features actors Brie Larson and John Hamm hanging out together in a refrigerator. Comedian and Actor Pete Davidson then opens the fridge to make a Hamm & Brie sandwich. This commercial delivers both puns and famous faces.
Dorito’s – Jack’s New Angle
This Doritos ad features popular rapper Jack Harlow. The signature triangle tortilla chip shape becomes the main theme of the commercial.
NFL – Run With It

This ad shows Budweiser as a beer for many different types of people, playing the idea of six degrees of separation with the idea of being “just a six-pack away” from like-minded people. This commercial even plays a homage to a classic Budweiser theme: the Clydesdale Horses which can be seen on a TV within the first couple of seconds of the ad.
